Hospital Management System For Holy Cross Health Centre

Abstract

Management System is very important for any health organizations. Holy Cross Health Centre is a privately owned hospital in Jaffna. Currently, the day to day operations of the hospital are dependent on manual and paper based system. They spend much more time to register the particulars of patients and manage their needs & wants daily. There is no specific way to secure the sensitive data of patients such as treatments provided and t h e types of disease. These data are available for most staff because of no proper documentary place for them and they are all in the paper based media. There is a pharmacy section in the hospital. Though, there is no systematic process to maintain and control the stock for pharmaceutical drugs. There is a ward system for patients but their needs and wants do not sometimes fulfil quickly due to lack of data maintenance of patients and care takers. Hospital staff details and their work plan such as shifting work are not well planned and systematic. Work plan of the visiting doctors and medical experts are also in a proper way. It takes long time to assign doctors and nurses for a treatment such as surgery. Preparing lab reports (such as blood test and urine test) and maintaining their changes take more time and difficult to track them properly. Generating management reports such as profit & lost account and handling account works are somewhat difficult and consumes much time. Particulars of employees, payments, salaries, and increments are in proper way and difficult to prepare the salary particulars of employees also. This project will lead to solve the deficiencies of all the mentioned operations in the hospital and it would give an efficient and effective ways to carry out tasks of the hospital staff in a user friendly manner.
