Inventory and Transaction Management System For Ranjan Lanka (Pvt) Ltd

Abstract

The Ranjan Lanka story begins in 1993 as a small size shop comprising of few staff. Today, Ranjan Lanka boasts of a workforce of more than three hundred staff with two branches. They are dealing with both local & foreign suppliers. Together with their, strategic methods they have built a compelling business case for each customer. Also they offer their clients wide range of super market, electric equipment, quality garments, Sports items, Stationary & many more. The current system support only sales transactions & no any update happen in inventory system. Because of that it is difficult to identify inventory level & reorder quantities. For purchasing process also there is not implemented any automated system & purchasing functions like issuing purchase orders, GRN issuing and invoicing are done manually. And current system does not allow handling sales & purchase returns. The proposed system will manage mainly stock, purchase & sales, will create a centralized controllability over Ranjan Lanka. The system is going to be developed to suit standalone environment. Main problems which will overcome by this solution are lack of efficiency of sales transactions and stock refill automation. This solution also supports for tracking order management, user privilege management, transactions (Purchase and Sales) management & more. This solution will provide POS (Point Of Sale) system to enhance the speed of transactions. Also the collected data will be used for generate variety of reports such as Day End Reports, Transaction Details Reports. It will support for top level management to achieve their business goals and future business improvements by decision making. The proposed system will enable to control the accessibility of information relevant to the users who deal with this system & will ensure about the security of the information. The proposed system follows MVC architecture & and foundation is JAVA language with Object Oriented techniques. OOAD was used for design phase as RUP was the process model that used to proposed system. This windows based solution is going to be developed using technologies such as java, javaFX, MYSQL, Hibernate and jasper reports mainly.
