Issue Date: 22-Jul-2014
Abstract: CPLanka Manpower founded in year 2007 is a service organization in the business of empowering jobseekers and companies, by finding the suitable candidates for the available placements which allows its client organizations to focus on their core businesses. The company helps both companies and individuals in navigating the ever changing world of work by providing recruitment, training, assessment and selection and consulting services. By offering this complete range of services, CPLanka Manpower is able to help companies, regardless of where they are in their business evolution, to raise productivity through improved strategy, quality, efficiency, and cost reduction across their entire workforce. Presently they have an available manual system to maintain and analyze the curriculum vitas they receive. Though it is helpful in handling data, there are redundancies which the staffs have to undergo on maintaining records. They have to waste many work-hours by repeatedly entering the same data in different environments and therefore they were in need of an online solution where it is applicable to handle and maintain all records efficiently without making any duplications. The proposed online system for CPLanka Manpower is a web based system which allows candidates to apply for jobs online and consists of many functions to cover the selection and recruitment process carried out by the staff. The system provides an easy to handle environment which smoothly runs the application efficiently and also provides clear reports to generate end of the day. The requirement analysis, design and the development of the system was attained through object oriented techniques. UML diagrams were used to analyze the requirements and to illustrate the design. The architecture MVC, which stands for Model, View and Controller , was used for the web based system. PHP server side scripting language was used to develop the web based system while MySQL was used to implement the database and XAMPP server was used to develop the system and the IDE used was Netbeans.
