Web Based Management System for Image Fitness Centre

Abstract

Image Gym & Fitness (IGF) is a fast growing fitness centre network, which provides wide spectrum of unique fitness, wellness, and health services that meet the needs of busy professionals, families, fitness enthusiasts, and non-enthusiast. Like any other lifestyle related business, fitness centres must cater customer friendly and effective service to their customers. Since its formal establishment, IGF maintaining a manual system with lots of paper work for its customer relationship management, human resource management, payroll system management, gym equipment management and other administrative functions. This paper based manual system dragged down the performance, effectiveness and goodwill of IGF. IGF was understood that they need an Information System to perform its administrative operations more efficiently & effectively. Hence IGF is looking ahead for a system, which can manage overall administrative functions, customer relationship and other functions effectively. New web-based system provides those facilities using its sub modules. In addition to the main functionalities, system provides various timely & accurate reports to both management and customers. The system can be accessed by both the internal staff & the customers of IGF while the web based system is open to access by the public. The system developed using object oriented iterative software development methodology known as Rational Unified Process (RUP). System development carried through using MVC (Model, View, and Controller) Architecture. Which separate application in to three layers known as Model, View and Controller. Development language is highly flexible open source scripting language known as PHP. Relational database uses for this system is open source MySQL and the web server is APACHE server. Netbeans used as the integrated development environment for the system. The web based management system has been developed to overcome the problem & shortcomings of the existing manual system, profit maximization through efficient management and increase the satisfaction among the customers of IGF.
