TRANSPORT SYSTEM FOR RAVEE ENTERPRISES

Abstract

Nowadays the engineering work becomes very competitive as the development projects are being carried on by government and non government bodies rapidly. The construction companies are being created newly and some existing are expanding their branches in remote areas also. This situation creates a competition and demand among them. RAVEE Enterprises which is also a type of Civil Engineering company which supplies heavy machinery for hire for construction , demolition, land clearance and channel cutting. As there are only a few companies do such work in Jaffna, many other companies from West and East of Sri Lanka are establishing their branches in North and invading in a high speed. To face this challenges RAVEE Enterprises has taken a wise decision to expand their work out of the district and use Information Technology to manage their work load with less cost and human power. They maintain so many difficult calculations manually and face difficulties in maintaining the records of the work they have finished. Calculation of workers salary is also a difficult task for them as there are workers in various salary category and they have different bonus schemes. This web based Transport Automation system is built to overcome some of the problems and to increase the accuracy and efficiency of their work. This system will give them a way to take a place in the competitive environment as it is a web based system, they can establish their work out of the district and they don t want to struggle with pen and paper for records and calculation. This system has used Object Oriented techniques. Unified Modeling Language (UML) was used for analysis and design. Hypertext Pre-processor (PHP) which is a server-side scripting language was used to build the system , meanwhile My SQL was used to handle databases. Adobe DreamWeaver is used to create web page. Since this is a web based system, it could be operated either in Windows or Linux environment. This system was designed to fulfill the requirements of the administration and staff of the RAVEE enterprises. It helps the administration to work effectively and efficiently according the time demands.
