WEB BASED ORDER AND INVENTORY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR NADEESHA GEM CENTRE

Abstract

Modern business environment is highly motivated to have computer based solutions in order to automate the time consuming and inefficient manual business processes. Nadeesha Gem Centre is a well reputed jewellery exporter in manufacturing contemporary jewellery. Considering the work load the staff receives daily, total reliance on a manual process cannot be considered efficient anymore. The web based order and inventory system for Nadeesha Gem Centre which is specifically developed in a way that the data is manipulated and presented to the privileged user to analyse timely information. Furthermore the management is facilitated with overall monitoring and timely reports where better decision making is possible. The day to day time consuming tasks which are related to order management, inventory, design patterns management and purchasing are automated whilst providing accurate and timely data. Rational Unified Process has been chosen as the software process model.It was decided to implement the above mentioned system using Asp.net(C#) and MS SQL Server was chosen to develop the database of the system.Furthermore client side architecture and .Net Framework4.0 have been used. Ultimately overall objectives of the system were achieved providing an ideal solution for the problems which are related to jewellery management.
