Bookshop Management and E-commerce System for 'Srilanka Bookshop' Kegalle. (SLBS E-reader)

Abstract

The Srilanka Bookshop (SLBS) is one of the leading bookshop in Kegalle area. They sell various types of books for every type of customers. It is the only one place in Kegalle area which customer can select and buy books. Therefore SLBS is very popular among readers in Kegalle area. Therefore SLBS has more customers than other competitors in Kegalle area. Now a day they manage all bookshop process through manual system. But management of the SLBS likes to develop automated system to improve process of the bookshop. And also management wants to spread business of the bookshop beyond the Kegalle area. Main goal of the SLBS e-reader system is give fully automated effective and efficient computer system to fulfill for above requirements of client. This system can manage all major functions in bookshop such as inventory controlling and store sales management. Most important part of this system is online shopping cart system, because it is the major requirement of the client. Complete system is built as web based system. Furthermore as additional part of this system, there is android based mobile application. It can be used to customers as well as management to get latest details about books shop. For example if there is a new arrival book, customer can get notification about this book through his android based mobile phone with this mobile system. This system has developed with hybrid method. But total design process based on object oriented methodology. Unified Modeling Language (UML) has used for analysis and design process. PHP has used as major development language. In addition JAVA has used to develop android based mobile application. For the database purpose MySQL has used as Database Management System. System has completely based on Apache web server.
