Issue Date: 22-Jul-2014
Abstract: In this fast and busy world most of the people prefer to buy products online than directly visiting the store, therefore most of the companies are wishing to develop a web-based system, especially the organizations in the textile industry. Jeyechandrans textiles is one of such companies, which already has got a web-based order processing system. The current system contains many drawbacks and therefore the system is not much efficient and effective, therefore the company is unable to implement it properly. This project is an endeavour to develop a better system for the organization, with the aim of meeting the important standards of the web-based system as much as possible. Web-based Order Processing System for Jeyechandrans consists of interfaces for the staff and the customers. Making orders, managing inventory, managing staff, managing suppliers, managing orders and managing purchases are some main functions of the proposed system. Unified modelling language was used in the analysis and design phase of the development. And UML diagrams such as use-case diagram, class diagram and etc were drawn to explain the system in detail. Adobe Dreamweaver CS6 is used to implement the system in PHP and HTML with the help of Apache web server and MySQL. Eventually the system has been tested properly using comprehensive testing procedures to ensure the higher quality of the system. The dissertation demonstrates all the work carried out during the analysis, design, development and evaluation phase of the system development. The figures and tables which are given under each chapter, help to understand the proposed system.
