Abstract: IT enablement for business processes has become an essential requirement in any business organization in this era. It helps organizations to improve their efficiency and effectiveness by reducing man hours consumed and avoiding difficulties faced by employees in traditional manual processes. It also helps providing the best of services to organization s customers, and provides easy mechanisms for decision makings of stake holders. Even though IT enablement has widely spread worldwide, the true benefits have not been taken using it by companies situated in rural areas. Niluka Motors is an organization who mainly focuses on selling of branded Vehicle Spare parts to a wide range of customers who still use traditional/manual ways to perform transactions thus they occupy a huge number of man hours and existence of technically high knowledgeable people in terms of automobile spare parts is required. The IT enablement for the company has become a humbly need, and this software solution project was undertaken to fulfil the business requirements of the company. The system consists of four main modules; Purchasing Module, Stock Controlling Module, Selling Module and MIS Reports Module, and it covered the all functionalities performed in the company. The system was developed using Three-tier architecture and worked in Client-server environment. C#.NET language was mainly used as the programming language under the .NET 2.0 framework with the help of Visual Studio 2005. Database was designed using MicroSoft SQL Server 2005.Object Oriented techniques were used to Analyse and Design while the taking the true advantages of Unified Modeling Language (UML). This Dissertation covers the all phases in project life cycle. The first chapter gives an Introduction to the project. The second and third chapters illustrate the analysis and design of the project respectively. The fourth chapter describes the mechanisms used to develop the physical software solution which covers the implementation phase. Fifth chapter cites the information gathered from Evaluation phase. The developed system provides the complete solution for both functional and nonfunctional requirements of Niluka Motors, in a user friendly environment while transparency is improved.
