Student Information System for Matrix Institute of Information Technology

Abstract

MATRIX Institute of Information Technology (Pvt) Ltd, is one of the major institute in Sri Lanka for IT education. MATRIX has large number of students, lectures, and non-academic staff. By November 2009, MATRIX had over 6000 student registrations from its inception. At the present most of student registration activities have been done manually. Therefore with this project, I endeavor to provide web based system which including Student Registration, Lecturer details registration, Manage course details, and provide various reports such as Student Payment Outstanding, Fee Collection reports based on daily, monthly, and division wise, and so on. This system was developed according to Object Oriented techniques and Unified Modeling Language (UML) in the Analysis and Design stages of the project. PHP is a server-side scripting language which used to develop the system and Apache as the web server, which needs to process PHP documents. MySQL is a database management system and JavaScript is a client-side scripting language, which also used in this project as well.
