Online Vehicle Yard Management System for Nissan Motors (Pvt) Ltd.

Abstract

Online Vehicle Yard Management System has developed for the Nissan Motors (Pvt) Ltd, which is one of the leading vehicle sellers in Sri Lanka. At the present, they are conducting their business in Kandy region with great commercial influence since in 1982. Even so, it does not have a proper computer based system to handle online vehicle sales and offline vehicle yard management facilities such as vehicle searching, tracking of vehicle acquisition details, etc. Under this circumstance having an Online Vehicle Yard Management System will help to overcome the above mentioned problem. This system basically runs on the internet and basically composed with two sections, section one has developed for the customers (vehicle buyers) and the other section useful for the administrator of Nissan Motors (Pvt) Ltd. This Online Vehicle Yard Management System will facilitate customer to search vehicles via online without actually visit to the particular vehicle yard, reserved vehicles via online, request more details about vehicles and get latest updates about vehicles. It also will facilitate to the administrator to track a vehicle acquisition details, vehicle selling details, report generating, invoice generating, and promotional e-mail sending features. Furthermore, this Online Vehicle Yard Management System contains a member forum which facilitates both customer and admin to share common problems and conduct a public discussion. This web based Online Vehicle Yard Management System was designed according to the Object Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and developed by used of PHP, Java scripts, & MySQL. Apache is used as the web server. This dissertation illustrates all the work carried throughout this project and discusses each of them on their particular chapter.
