Human Resource Management and Report processing System for Stewarts Manufacturing (PVT) Ltd

Abstract

Stewarts Manufacturing (PVT) Ltd is a Garment Company which has three garment factories which has over 500 employee base and handles foreign and sub contracts of garment projects. The factory located in Mahagage, Ragama has an employee base 0f 200 and undertakes most of the sub contracts of sri lanka s leading garment companies. The Human resource department of this factory handles a major role in this company for managing the employees. The problem which this company has is they have no proper system to handle the business process of this factory. Especially when it comes to Human resource (HR) department, they still use very obsolete techniques to mark the attendance and making the payroll. So this project is about making an Human resource management system which will automate the existing functions and provides more elaborated new functions such as report generation etc The scope of the project is ranging from the existing functions of the current system and to some new functions of the new system. This project facilitates automation of attendance, payroll and report generation. Some of the functions such as personal file maintenance and performance measuring are also semi automated since the data should be manually fed in to the system. The attendance will be marked by an electronic system and the time in and time out will be recorded as well. The OT hours will be generated automatically and these data will be used for making the payroll. The payroll will look for all aspects of the salary, deductions, payments and other calculations. The personal files of the employees are maintained in the system database instead of depending on physical files. The performance measuring system will get the inputs from performance forms and it will show who the worst and best performers to the management are. The report processing system will generate many reports for the use of management to support decision making The project is using Java as the programming language which will also used some frameworks such as swing and jasper reporting tools. And Mysql as the relational database which is working as the system database. To support and ease of the development, Netbeans IDE is used as the IDE tool.
