Abstract: Wings Cargo services establishment is a cargo company in UAE (United Arab Emirates) that strives to provide to the customers with a personalized service of the highest quality, in managing the movement of their goods across all modes of transport, until they safely delivered to the final designation. The industry is very popular among Sri Lankan because the business environment is friendly, honest, and transparent and always provides a clear picture. Increasing competition in UAE market among Wings cargo has few drawbacks. The main problem is company maintaining a manual management system. Usually the information is necessary for long term record keeping and must be available for anytime possible tribunal purposes. To overcome all defects, computerized information system is very important to introduce for Wings cargo and its quite advantage for timely manner. The developed software package consisting two parts. Freight forwarding management system and customer online cargo status tracking. In beginning of the project, the customer requirements has been clearly identified and determined that most suitable modelling technique was Waterfall model. The system implementation was based on Ubuntu OS where it can provide more secure file system. In fact powerful PHP with embedded HTML scripting used for server side application and JavaScript used for client side validation, also MySQL for database and Apache for resource managements for the entire system. Coding principles based on component development approached where deferent applications developed separately and finally integrated all together. Black Box testing applied for component testing that ensured entire system is working up to the limit. Once customer registered in freight forwarding system he/she will be able to obtain a printed receipt generated by the system. Online web interface consist of a login session where customer can used passport number and receipt ID for login. If customer successfully logged in the system he/she will be able to verify cargo delivery status.
