INVENTORY AND SALES MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR SOORYA PHARMACY JAFFNA

Abstract

Inventory & Sales Management System is important for any business organizations. It is very important for organizations which are in service purchasing, stock control and sales. All Pharmacies in Jaffna are still in the early phase of adopting information technology into their Inventory and accounting management system. The Soorya Pharmacy, Jaffna is functioning as a private business organization. And this is one of the best leading Pharmacies in Jaffna. This pharmacy contains most of the approved medicines and health care needs which are available in Srilanka. This System handles the general stock maintenance and some initial accounting financial activities of the pharmacy. Here, a manual Inventory Management System is used by the pharmacy. This system is used to carry out the everyday Inventory Control, basic accounting activities, and generate some reports, which are required at the end of the each month or end of the week or timely basis and for periodic decision making by the administration of this pharmacy This dissertation illustrates all the work carried out during the each phase of the project. Each chapter will consist of required details in order to understand the project with the help of appropriate figures, graphs, reports. This Inventory & Sales Management System (ISMS) was developed using Microsoft Visual Studio.NET 2003. SQL server 2000 was used as the Database Management System. This combination ensures a high portability to the system developed. This developed system is thoroughly tested to guarantee a validated system.
