WEB BASED CONTENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR RAJARATHNE ENTERPRISE

Abstract

Rajarathne Enterprise is a unique firm who provide consultative services and services to repair tea driers and sell spare parts of tea driers and heaters in Sri Lanka.They play a major role in their field and currently they have only a manual system to manage their technical and experimental documents and to inform their events and announcements for different level of users. Therefore with this project I endeavor to increase the easiness of managing their documents, communication with their clients and the efficiency of the company. This system gives the ability to manage and publish their technical documents via article, category and section Document Management Systems. With Event Calendar and News and Announcement Management systems they can easily inform their events and announcements for their clients. With breadcrumbs, dynamic sub menus and Main Menu Management System, end users can easily navigate through the system and with User Management System they can assign different access levels for the system for different type of users. System was developed according to the three-tier architecture, two step view pattern and object oriented techniques by using the zend framework which is an objectoriented web application framework implemented in PHP programming language and using MySQL relational database management system. To run the application Zend Server which is a web Application Server is used. To optimize the system, not only current conventions and also tried to update the system when the experts introduce new conventions for Zend Framework projects. TinyMCE WYSIWYG editor is integrated to easier to create and edit web content for non technical users. JQuery JavaScript library and JQuery UI user interface library are used to improve AJAX interactions and some event handlers of the system. Through achieving functional and non-functional objectives of the project, this system gives a smooth functioning procedure with user friendly environment. I strongly believe the work which I have done will engage a better working environment in Rajarathne Enterprise and will improve the efficiency of their services.
