Abstract: As the latest technologies invading the world s economy, most of the industries have gettogether with Internet and other latest technologies. As a result of this the efficiency and effectiveness of the industries have immensely improved and the traditional day to day transactions have been replaced by e-commerce . As the emerge of the e-commerce together with world wide web, its considered as a method of gaining competitive advantage over the modern economy. Samarasiri Electronics (pvt) Ltd is one of the pioneers in Sri Lanka who engaged in selling of Electronics appliances. They basically carry their business via the head office situated at Maharagama and some regional offices. Samarasiri Electrics maintains the dealerships with Sony, LG, Philips and etc and therefore the business is in large volumes. Competitive prices, customer service, monthly payment schemes and good after sales service are the key features that they attracts the customers. System was developed using three-tier architecture and Structural (SSADM) methodology were employed. Data flow diagrams and structure chart were used to analyze and design the system architecture. Microsoft Visio used as a design tool to implement system design documentation and system was developed purely using server side scripting language PHP. Apache server was used as the web server to host the system with the integration of MySql for database management as well as PhpMyAdmin to maintain the database. This dissertation illustrates all the work carried out during the each phase of the project. Each chapter will consist of required details in order to understand the project with the help of appropriate figures, graphs and reports. Through achieving functional and nonfunctional objectives of the project, this system gives a smooth functioning procedure with user friendly environment. The system was thoroughly tested and proved to be successful and all the users have accepted it as a viable solution for the problem definition.
