SCHOOL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR W/J SRI RAHULA MAHA VIDYALAYA

Abstract

Sri Lankan education system is the best one over the world and our students are rich from intelligence and very talented unless they have enough facilities. But next generation should be born with rich technical capabilities in our country because it is the trend of the world in near future and the future of the entire world is relying on school student s shoulders as next generation work force. Hence we need to ready our next generation with the latest technology to create an intelligent person for the future. SMS web based system is a complete system which follows school processes and helps administration to manage day today works efficiently and with high productivity. It will be the turning point of changing the position of the school. According to the system, students are selected from applications under standard rules of government for relevant class and capture progress details from examinations. The system consists with Student Registration, School Time Table, Attendances (with leave), Examinations and Results, School Resources and Special Events and the School Fund Details. Website publishes new events of the school and other general details which are useful for school stakeholders. System was developed according to the three-tier architecture and also Object Oriented Techniques were employed and it is concentrate with singleton design pattern. Visio tool was used to draw diagrams in the analysis and design stages of the project. C# .NET language in Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 was used to implement the system with the help of Microsoft SQL Server 2005 in the Web environment. Dissertation contains the declaration of the author, acknowledgement, a brief abstract, table of contents, list of acronyms and a list of figures along with a detailed introduction to the project, a review of background information, documentation on analyzing and designing the project, user interfaces, implementation, testing and evaluation information and the conclusion that carries future developments of the project. The references made to relevant parties, the set of appendices and the glossary of index will bring the dissertation to a conclusion, graphs and reports.
