Infinity Management System for Infinity International Schoo (IMS)

Abstract

Infinity Management System was developed for Infinity International School based on the concept of the founders of Infinity Computer Studies as a result of their Business Strategy for expansion i.e. to establish an International School. The client is into the business of providing quality education to the students from Grade 1 -13 in English medium. The proposed system was developed to facilitate achieving its vision as most of the companies in the same industry are using Management Information in day to-day operations to make quality, timely and accurate decisions. So it is crucial for Infinity to gain the competitive advantage through Management Information by automating their manual system to be competitive with the other rivals in the market. With the clients strategy to establish an International school the functionalities involved will be much higher compared to the Institute that they are running at the moment. The existing manual system had many failures and limitation such as access to student information was a time consuming activity and maintainability of records and their accuracy, inability to track student performance, resources scheduling was done manually and no proper system to manage the Library were the major concerns. With the expansion it is crucial to address all these limitations for an effective management of the organization and to win the satisfaction of the parents which will be a crucial aspect that affects the going concern of the company. IMS will be capable of addressing all the issues identified above to manage information effectively and it will empower the client to analyse information in many perspectives. Student registration handling, Student payment handling, Student performance evaluation, Maintain student attendance, Handling school schedules, Manage extracurricular activities and school library and generating of customized reports under each module are covered by IMS. The IMS had been developed based Client Server Architecture and using Object Oriented Concepts. Microsoft Visual Studio 2005, .NET framework and Microsoft SQL Server 2005 used as development tools. Accordingly, IMS will be a total solution for the client to achieve its goals and objectives by managing Information strategically and accurately.
