Title: Online Management Information System For Chamara Motors

Abstract: The aim of this document is to describe the development and implementation of the Online Management Information System in detail. Chamara Motors became a TVS Dealer and a sales agent as well as service agent since 2008. So they increased their workload by recruiting more employees, bought new equipments as well as joined with new businesses like repairing all kinds of bikes and selling motor parts. With the growth of customers and daily services, company faced some problems such as losing customer impression, transaction delays, and extra stock loading, work overloading and de-motivate of employees. Therefore, Online Management Information System has been developed to overcome above-mentioned drawbacks, and to give optimum solution to those problems. Company identified the need of an Online Management Information System to advertising, compete other dealers, reduce workload by computerizing the system, avoid delays and extra purchasing by stock handling, gain customer impression by saving time, and motivate employees. Other than that, system has the capability of providing online service reservations, which helps to grow their business, and the employee monitoring system, management reports and section progress reports for improve the efficiency of company procedures. This system is a web-based solution. It used WAMP Server 2.0 as a tool, which includes Apache 2.2 web server and MySQL 5.1 database server and PHP 5.3 web programming language. Adobe Dreamweaver CS4 used as integrated development environment. Other than that, system used MYSQL GUI tool to easy database management. In addition, to get more user attraction, it used web Technologies like CSS, JScripts and flash animations. As first step, company decided to practice system functionalities related to their stores activities. After that, they wished to gradually introduce other functionalities in future. So, this dissertation also contains future enhancements and experiences gained through the project.
