Automobile Management System for Coyasan LTD

Abstract

The intention of this dissertation is to elucidate the automobile system which helped Coyasan LTD to improve their business activities, give value added services to their customers and to make decision accurately to Coyasan management currently located in Sri Lanka and Japan. Coyasan Ltd is a company that imports vehicles and vehicle spare parts from Japan and sells in the local market. The company handles their businesses manually. If any customer needs to check about the vehicles or vehicle spare parts they have to come and make inquiry. If Coyasan technical people do not available that time, customer has to wait until they exist and it make un-satisfaction to the customer. Another major issue was main business partner of the Coyasan is located in Japan. Before take any decision both parties have to do business discussion via Fax/phone calls and it make really uncomfortable to both parties since lot of documents needs to be transferred. Therefore user friendly software was developed to satisfy Coyasan s customers, Coyasan management and Coyasan day to day work process. This project attempts to address the need of customers by developing a system that can facilitate mainly Search vehicles and spare parts, Make inquires about vehicles and spare parts, and Maintain customer details. It also eases the management work by facilitating to get a correct decision through Management Reports. Also the branch located in Japan can easily get an idea about available and required items through the web site. The entire system divided in to two sub systems, Coyasan Automobile Website and Coyasan Automobile Windows application. The whole system was developed using .NET platform and Unified Modeling Language used for analyzing and designing stages of the project. This system was developed using Microsoft Visual Studio 2008, C#, Asp.Net programming languages and Microsoft SQL Server 2008 was used as the database of the software.
