SCHOOL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR SIDDHARTHA COLLEGE

Abstract

Siddhartha College is a government school. At present most of the school activities have been done manually and according to situation of current analysis school faces difficulties when they managing student, teachers and resources data. By using this system school efficiency and effectiveness will be increased. It is possible for system to authorized persons. Teachers, students and parent can access system. There are wide varieties of functions that aid the users. Registration(student, teacher, class), Resource allocation, generating reports such as school summery, student progress analysis through graphs, Student character certificate, students attendance, term test marks and message notification system are some of most important features in the system. Reports are generated covering different views such as statistical and graphical, which improves decision making. Parents can check whether their children came to the school or not, student marks and place of the exam by sending SMS with their registered mobile number with the system. By using this systems allowing the teachers and other officers to concentrate more on other most important matters such as teaching and other student related activities by taking the burden of maintaining, protecting and searching the school related information manually. System was developed according to the Object Oriented Techniques. Unified Modeling Language was used in the analysis and Design stages of the project J2EE was used to implement the system and Apache as the web server. MYSQL was used as the Database Management System. This combination ensures a high portability to the system developed. This developed system is thoroughly guaranteeing a validated system. Through achieving functional and non-functional objectives of the project, this system gives a smooth functioning procedure with user friendly environment. I strongly believe the work which I have done will engage a better working environment in Siddhartha College.
