Abstract: This dissertation explores the important aspects of Accounting System highlighting how each phase in software development life cycle is carried out, features of the system, installation guide for deploying & configuring and how the system automate the business processes reducing the human involvement, incomplete process & paper work. Colour Sensor is a well-established company, which is somewhat popular for Water Proofing, Colour Washing (Painting) and Brush Trading. The company was in need of a complete accounting software solution to replace the current manual system, which has lots of issues & inefficiencies. Accounting System is a complete software solution, which is running on a server as windows based application with highest security. The Accounting System is well designed and implemented to ensure efficiency, reliability, robustness, security, maintainability and accuracy especially in financial transaction-based activities. The major functionalities of the system include, mainly chart of accounts maintaining, customer invoicing, supplier billing, payment handling, receipt handling, petty cash handling, journal entry handling, bank reconciliation, credit noting, debit noting...Etc. It also provides various types of reports such as a trial balance report, balance Sheet report, profit & loss report, cash book reports, payment details reports, receipt details report, ledger folio report, journal details report, bank reconciliation report etc. payment voucher printing, receipt printing, petty cash voucher printing can be printed using reports generated by the system. The system was developed using C#.NET as the programming language, MSSQL Server as the database, Crystal Reports in Visual Studio as the reporting engine and Microsoft Office Visio is used for designing UML diagrams. This combination ensures a high portability to the system developed. This developed System is thoroughly tested to guarantee a validated system.
