WEB BASED PAYROLL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR LISVIN INVESTMENT LIMITED - BATTARAMULLA

Abstract

The current payroll system is a manual system. Which does not deliver expected efficiency and accuracy and it has number of drawbacks. The project is to develop a web based payroll management system for the company. This is a web based solution which can be hosted in a centralized web server with a database server where only the super admin has administrative rights to use. Super admin can manage all master data, provision users and granting access rights to them. A flexible development methodology is adopted where changes can be incorporated with minimal effort. This document describes the methodology that is used to develop the product, by dividing development effort in to several generic phases. The document will also demonstrate use of design documents each stage of development life cycle. The development of the remaining phases will be done in the same manner. There is always a probability of addition of new design documents in to the process if the necessity arises. The solution has been developed with Java server technologies and uses PostgreSQL as the RDBMS. PostgreSQL is a most popular open source product with enterprise grade high performance.
