Abstract: Lanka Broadband Network Ltd is a service providing company, providing Cable TV service to different parts of the western province. Company have about 50,000 customer base that pay their subscription monthly. LBN Ltd is using a windows base subscription management system to handle their customer subscriptions. This software has number of limitations and issues with the increasing customer transactions of the company. Company needs additional manual effort to fulfil required business critical activities. The proposed system contains Subscriber registration, Invoicing, Payment Handling, Manage Disconnection/Reconnection, Complaint Handling and Work Order Handling as the core modules. One of the primary objectives was to connect all branches of the company to use centralized system, where company management can easily monitor all the activities from head office. Major issue of the existing system was poor system performance. Therefore significant change of the existing data model was needed to improve performance and extensibility of the system. Object oriented techniques and concepts were used in system design and Rational Unified Process was used as the software development Process. The new System was developed as web based solution using Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 and SQL 2008. C#.NET 3.0 was used as the programming language. The software was developed on top of .NET Framework 3.5. IIS 7.0 was used as the web server. The proposed system has almost all function and non-functional requirement of the LBN Ltd. Most important objective was to connect all the branches to access same system securely, which was successfully achieved with new web based system. According to the testing and customer acceptance new system will provide more efficient solution to LBN Ltd to achieve their business goals.
