Authors: Thamodaran, N.
Issue Date: 2-Jun-2014
Abstract: The Medicare (Pvt.) Ltd has been described as a red tape organization in reviewing the patient history and generating reports to the management, because the manual system consumes lot of time and cost to review the patient history, up to date the information and to generate reports to the management. The main objective of this system is to automate the entire treatment process, i.e. activities such as patient registration, appointment schedule, consultants schedule, medical examination, prescriptions generation, pharmacy and billing. The system provides flexibility to access patient data at any time and manipulate data as per the rights assigned to the user. This system is developed in a pure Internet/Intranet environment and runs on any browser. The software provides detailed management reports with different formats especially to aid the decision making of the higher management. The system was developed using WampServer whereas MySQL server provides lot of functionalities such as backing up of data and restoring them faster. In designing the relational database, normalization techniques were applied. The system was developed using methodology such as Objet Oriented programming. Macromedia Dreamviewer and Photoshop were used to develop attractive user interfaces. Testing process was carried out mainly in three categories as component testing, integration testing and then user acceptance testing. The system developed fulfills the requirements of the client to the maximum with the best quality. The goals of the project were achieved by the completed system.
