WEB BASED RESOURCES AND PROPERTY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR SEYLAN BANK

Abstract

Resource allocation and optimization is the two major areas to be considered in management. In accounting terms resources are assets to any company that can add a value to the company. But poor management of resources become a liability as it incur some cost or expense that need to paid from its profit. When the branches are located in various geographical areas collecting accurate statistics of resources and managing those resources through proper allocation require more systematic approach. Seylan Bank PLC currently doesn t have proper way of managing their inventories. This ad-hoc approach has led to massive wastage of bank s assets causing a huge impact on the net profit of the bank. The management also looking for various cost cutting methods as the bank is recovering from a financial crisis. It is the idea of financial advisors that proper management of resources can optimise the financial allocation for resources being used by the bank for its operations. The web based system is fulfilling the above two major requirements of the bank by controlling the inventory and optimizing resources allocation. This system will go further step and cater to the requirement of web auction system to sell the defected and fully depreciated resources to the bank staff. With those innovative features the system can easily be distinguished from a typical inventory control system. The system also pave way to the management to decide the best possible combination of resources to be allocated to a particular branch considering the services and level of services provided by such branch. Web based resources and property management system depends on different technologies for its function. JAVA technology is the main character of them. Providing attractive GUIs using JAVA frameworks are being proven through out the project. Rational rose has used so far in UML designing and many other development tools such as NetBeanse IDE , Mysql Administrator, and web design tools such as Dream viewer are used at the development stage.
