Authors: Imthiyas, P.M.M.
Issue Date: 2-Jun-2014
Abstract: National Housing Development Authority (NHDA) is the one of the Government Institutes engaged in Housing Construction for middle and lower income people. More than 250,000 houses were constructed by NHDA for 30 years of time and at present more than 2,000 employees have been working in the institution. The current manual system in NHDA involves so many ledgers and registers to get up to date information all the registers must be brought to a single place, checked, verified. These activities take days to complete and with the anticipated expansion is going to make the case more worse. Therefore, I endeavour to create an Automated Attendance System to improve efficiency of process and maintain the standards and quality. This system is very intuitive and user friendly and the interfaces is design to enter master records and transaction records without complexity. Re-checking, auto verifications and validations can do in necessary administrative levels and guide users to handle the system in easy manner. The main functionalise of new system is tracking to expedite the current operation by calculating leaves with considering relevant records such as attendance, leaves, site duties, official visits and entitle leaves. The main aim of the system is to generate efficient, accurate and necessary reports such as attendance, late comers, early departures and many more. This total functionality of the system will ease the work of management and operational staff. The new system was developed three tier architecture which are GUI, Business Logic and Services and used Object Oriented techniques. In the Windows environment Microsoft .Net and the C# Language are used for developing the system and Dia Drawing Software is used to develop UML technique for designing part of the system. SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition is used as the Database Management System. This dissertation illustrates all the work carried out during the each phase of the project. Each chapter will consist of required details in order to understand the project with the help of appropriate figures and reports. Through achieving functional and non-functional objectives of the project, this system gives a smooth functioning procedure with user friendly environment. I strongly believe the work which I have done will engage a better working environment in NHDA.
