Title: | Privacy Enhanced Data Sharing Model for Smart Phones in a Distributed Environment |
Authors: | Perera, C.A. |
Issue Date: | 20-May-2014 |
Abstract: | Today's smart phones have variety of sensors enable them to collect and use them in various monitoring application. This study mainly focuses on the users' willingness to share the sensed data with others which are considered to be private and sensitive such as GPS location, accelerometer, temperature, humidity. Considering the accessing of sensed data of a smart phone from another smart phone itself arises a considerable amount of privacy issues. Hence, the purpose of this study is to explore the privacy aspects which are mainly authorization and authentication of a system which uses SQL query like database abstract layer to transparently access query sensor data from one device to another. Among all identi ed access control mechanisms we have proposed Policy based access control mechanism as a solution for the authorization by compar- ing the advantages and drawbacks of most popular access control mechanisms used in Social Network Systems. PBAC mechanism is used due to the man- ageability and exibility to change access rules according to the preference of the users. To address the authentication public key cryptography has identi- ed as the best solution. Addition to the mentioned privacy aspects o ering a user friendly query processing interface is another main target of this project. |
