School Administration System

Abstract

The School Administration System, as the name implies can be used as a means to administrate students, academic staff and the non academic staff. Managing their day to day tasks more accurately and efficiently is the main purpose of this system. Most of the schools use a manual system due to various reasons. However, handling large volumes of data manually is time consuming and leads to delays in decision making etc. The objectives of this projectareto identify the problems in the manual process of Ananda Balika Vidyalaya Colombo 10 and provide a solution based on ICT to improve efficiency and decision making.By considering the customer requirements, performance and the speed, a standalone applicationis created. Object oriented system design was used to design the system and the system was developed using Visual Studio C# language,SQL was used to handle the database of the system. Based on user acceptance testing and evaluation, the author is able to conclude that the system helps to improve the school administration tasks. However, further improvements such asmaking the system available online, automating the time table creation process could provide a better result for the users
