Online Management System for Automobiles Workshop

Abstract

Senok Automobiles (pvt) Ltd is the sole agent in Sri Lanka for world famous brands of automobiles such as Audi, Subaru and Volkswagen. The Motor Car market has become very competitive. For Senok Automobiles (pvt) Ltd to have competitive edge and to lead. The user-friendly interface and automated booking system makes it a lot easier for the customers to make reservations online .As most of SAPL customers are using Internet / Smart phones etc. our company should also have IT system developed to suit the valued customer s needs and to make the transactions conveniently. This would be a significant edge for the Company. Currently Vehicle booking for service and repairs are being done by over the phone or visit to workshop. The problems of the current system are slow process of reservation, less data integrity, difficulty of searching and retrieving of record, booking time is limited (only office hours), Customer can t get their vehicle history in one shot. This is not speedy and flexibility for customer. Even though there are many comprehensive software solutions out there in the market, many of them are expensive and there by become unaffordable to many medium - sized businesses. While these facts are being presented, one of the main objectives of this project is to build a comprehensive, cost effective and generic software solution for such mid-sized businesses in making their operational tasks a success. Implementation of our computerized system will help to maintain the standard of the company. And also more time to provide quality care and customer service, save money by reducing the cost of answering phone calls, Record and view the appointment history of each customer, 24 hours booking .This system is not only useful for company but also to the customers. The customers can enjoy the following benefits .Customers are not left wondering if their appointment has been confirmed, Customer can check dates, request a cancellation, customer can login from home or office at any time and book at their leisure, and customer can review and print their online appointment and vehicle history. iii | P a g e This system will be high performing; maintainable and reliable because it s designed using the object oriented concept and developed using open source software such as PHP and MYSQL Server as database in the back end. This system represent as real management tool, which will be helpful for the organization to achieve their goals. At the completion of the online workshop management system for Senok Automobile workshop able to process their day today activity with the help of functionality that provides by software. End of project evaluation conducted as discuss in evaluation chapter and user manual provided to end users.
