Abstract: The Department of Education in Uva Province is the major party which owns and responsible to improve the provincial education in our province. So it should coordinate 8 Zone offices which consist of 23 educational divisions as well. Therefore, they should have a reliable information system to success their responsibility and accountability in activities which are handled by the Department of Education. They are, collecting student information, teachers information, school information, management information, staff information to provide infrastructure, in-service, school feeding, teaching and learning materials, community sensitization and advisory services. So they must have efficient and effective method to handle these activities. To overcome the classical issues I have implemented a web based information system for Educational Department of Uva Province. The system is accessed by different level of users as Zone vice and feed that information using the system through internet. Introduction, Background, Analysis & Design, Implementation & Testing, Evaluation & results, Conclusion and User Manual, Design documentation, test cases and evaluation form are appended. I have used Object Oriented System Development for this project. And also ArgoUML as a tool to draw the diagrams which are in the appendices. This System can run on Linux platform as well as Windows platform. Thus, this is a cross platform independent work. WAMP 2.0h, Macromedia Dream viewer 8, Adobe Photoshop 8, And Basically HTML have been used to develop the this product.
