Abstract: Location Based Advertising is a form of modern day advertising, which has ability to identify a user’s location and deliver location specific and contextualized advertisements in real-time. So much so, the convergence of mobility, advertising and location, makes mobile the most effective media for advertising. Yet it is not difficult to find limitations in existing applications. Spam advertisements, privacy issues, conventional model are some of these limitations. They can be broadly concise into 3R problem; Relevant, Reach and Result. Optimize the location based mobile advertising model by addressing current limitations, are the objectives of this project. This project also focuses to develop a Location Based Advertising framework which suits Sri Lankans, adding a greater value to their modern day life. The scope of this project is constrained only to the Colombo region and limited type of business, such as fashion stalls.
