Title: Ceylon Compiler for Embedded Java Virtual Machines
Authors: Elvitigala, C.M.
Issue Date:  12
Abstract: Alternative JVM language adoption is increased since recently for developing applications for Java Virtual Machines. These alternative languages are used for solving computing problems in di erent application domains related to Java Technology world, but there are no work done in order to use these languages for embedded Java Virtual Machines. These embedded Java Virtual Machines are deployed on top of the resource constrained environments such as that are having low memory and limited processing power. Developing applications for embedded Java Virtual Machines with better performance and higher memory management is a challenging task. In this research we have proposed an approach to compile alternative JVM languages for embedded Java Virtual Machines. In this research we have used Ceylon as our alternative JVM language. Ceylon is a newly arrived general purpose alternative JVM language and it provides many features and programming abstractions to developers. Through our evaluations of this new proposed compiler process of ours, it is able to gain more memory optimization than the standard Ceylon compiler process.
