Title: Effective Resource Sharing Mechanism for Cloud Environment
Authors: Upatissa, D.P.T.D.
Issue Date:  12
Abstract: The main objective of this research is, keep consistent copy of VM image when the multiple users access the same image. Basically there are lots of approaches which have been taken to improve the e ectiveness of managing virtual machine images in Eucalyptus based cloud environment. Here mainly we have been used two approaches to enhance the current virtual image shar- ing mechanism, which did not harm the ow of the cloud environment. Our approaches are implementation of locking mechanism for the cloud controller which acts as the main control unit of the cloud environment and integrate version enabling mechanism for the Walrus which acts as the main storage controller of the cloud environment. For the version enabling mechanism we have been used virtual machine images with Btrfs le system which contains the copy on write feature.
