Title: WPKI Based Single Sign On Authentication Protocol for Cloud Computing
Authors: Naiduwa, K.P.
Issue Date:  12
Abstract: As an emerging technology, cloud computing has become the most spoken topic in Computer science world. After being doing researchers in distributed computing, utility computing and networking for many decades, the idea of accessing computing power, computer applications and computer infrastructure in utility basis or subscrip- tion basis from location other than place user is computing has become true. Though, due to the several security issues people are still afraid to move for cloud environment. According to the surveys, one of the main security issues in cloud com- puting is cloud computing authentication security. As data is stored in an external environment, anyone could access the data by just recovering user's username and password. During past few years several security breaches were reported due to such circumstance. Today some commercial products are implemented to overcome such security is- sues. Most of those products use separate hardware token to authenticate user and they cannot be a ordable for normal user. Therefore our main objective of this project is to develop single sign on based cloud authentication protocol with more security, which could be a ordable to any person. In our project when certain user wants authenticated to the cloud environment, he would be redirected to a speci c identity server. Then the Identity server will authen- ticate the user via his mobile phone and the web browser. Therefore Mobile phone should have the facility to install java based applications. And after user has authen- ticating just one time to the identity server, he would be able to access all his other services of the cloud environment without authenticating again. Finally we have compared and evaluated our WPKI based single sign on authen- tication protocol with other existing cloud authentication systems such like username password cloud authentication system and hardware device based cloud authentication system in security vice manner and economical vice manner.
