Title: Data Manipulation / Retrieval Using Natural Language
Authors: Gunawardana, M.
Issue Date:  12
Abstract: Databases are designed to present an organized mechanism for storing, managing and retrieving information, for one or more purposes, usually in digital form. Databases are now being used in every discipline/domain for many purpose and some of them are education, banking, medical, Insurance and telecommunication. The design and maintenance of a complex database requires specialist skills and special-purpose programming languages. The most widely supported standard database language is SQL, which combines the roles of Data Description Language, Data manipulation language and a Query Language.. Since database gets major part in every domain area and it becomes essential there must be easy ways to perform database operations .Not all database users are technical/ Sophisticated Users, Most of the database users are naive and not have knowledge in SQL. So it is easy to use something that they already know. If they can use natural language for querying database, data manipulation becomes an easy task for them. This project is solution for above mentioned problem and it provide high level interface for nontechnical user in database management. In here we convert voice to natural language text and then convert it to SQL command. Then execute this SQL query and display results to user. Main purpose of this research is converting natural language text to SQL.
