Authors: Sanjeewa, P.A.A.
Issue Date: 19-Dec-2013
Abstract: Web services are known as loosely coupled reusable software components which are dis- tributed in several locations. They represent unit of business logic which can carry out some speci c task. Client-server network architecture is mostly used in web services. Although the client-server based web services are rich on standards, they have shown possible weaknesses in situations such as scalability and fault tolerance. Therefore to better cope with the fundamental issues of the client-server based web services, peer to peer web services have evolved. Although the peer to peer web services are capable of overcome the issues related to the client-server web services, yet they are lacking in open standards. Meanwhile MoCha, which is an implementation of mobile channel concepts, has shown its strengths as a communication and coordination primitive in distributed environments. The mobility nature of channels provides good set of functionalities in distributed communication and coordination. In this study we introduce a peer to peer web service architecture based on mobile channel (MoCha). This MoCha based peer to peer web service architecture uses distributed approach in web service publication and dis- covery and it introduces mobile channel based communication mechanism in web service invocation. In addition to that the proposed peer to peer web service architecture allows exible web service interaction by using the mobility nature of the channels in a peer to peer environment.
