dc.description.abstractDengue, mosquito borne infection caused by family of viruses poses signi cant health threats throughout developed and developing world. There are four serotypes of Dengue virus that cause Dengue. Phylogenetic studies have identi ed genetic subtypes within each of the four Dengue virus serotypes. Dengue virus di ers in each subtype, which makes dynamics in Dengue virus population. The evolution process of Dengue virus dramatically increases the occurrences of four serotypes of Dengue virus. The process of evolution has produced pattern of relationships between Dengue viruses. Our goal in this study was to learn and understand Dengue viruses' evolutionary pattern and to predict its future evolutions. To better understand the evolutionary mechanism of Dengue virus, we examined a data set consists of 1191 nucleotide sequences of the envelope gene of Dengue virus. Phylogenetic tree was used to trace the origin of the of selected Dengue viruses. We used association rules, bigrams and trigrams to extract dependencies-dependency relationships between ancestors and descendants. Association rule technique achieved 0.994 accuracy rate in predicting upcoming evolutionary shifts. Both bigram and trigram techniques achieved approximately 0.66 accuracy rate. Our results suggest that, there exists an evolutionary pattern in Dengue virus.en_US
