Title: Constraints Based Landscaping
Authors: Athapaththu, I.N.
Issue Date: 18-Dec-2013
Abstract: Constraints based approaches are used to solve situations in most applications since last decades. This paper presents an extension of the geometric constraint-based design to support the build of landscaping design. A prototype has been developed, using constrained based approaches, to facilitate the construction of the garden design and to allow the calculation, visualization and interaction in real time with a 3D model. This study emphasis the constraints imposes on the landscape gardening and focuses on an optimization model for garden designing. In order for improving the overall e ectiveness of the system the optimization model is integrated together with 3D visualization. At the end users are facilitated with an optimized design layout of his/her future garden as he/she intended to have. Finally an evaluation process was carried out from the aid of a sample which consists of experience subjects and it shows the performance of the CBL is in an acceptable level.
