Authors: Kumari, D.W.C.P.
Issue Date: 18-Dec-2013
Abstract: Nowadays, unlike in the past, today people use mobile phones not only as a communication media but for many other purposes such as for entertainment, capturing videos and photos and for media sharing. This happens because many advanced features are added to the mobile environment like GPRS, Bluetooth, 2G, GSM, 3G and 4G to the mobile environment since last decades. All of these bene ts come from the mobile phone at the expense of money. Along with the development of mobile protocols, sharing audio, video and other media also has gone further. File sharing is already implemented thus audio, video sharing also now possible in mobile phones. To share media lively has some problems due to lack of streaming protocols and hardware constraints in mobile environment. Framework for Music Sharing on the y (MSF) is to share music in real time via Bluetooth for mobile phones. A mobile phone (client) can share music with another mobile phone (server) that has a direct access to the Internet and listen to music in the near proximity. GPRS facility is not necessary to be available with the client mobile phone that shares with the other party. The GPRS charges are applied only to the server mobile thus is economical for mobile users who listen to music using mobile phones. Both the server and the client mobile can play the music at the same time. The music le is shared with a signi cant delay but with an acceptable level to be heard from the shared mobile phone.
