Title: Designing a Service Oriented Customizable Framework to Manipulate GIS Data
Authors: Ranasinghe, H.C.W.
Issue Date: 17-Dec-2013
Abstract: Service Oriented Architecture is not widely used in GIS. Although there are few orga- nizations have launched their Service Oriented GIS applications, it is not possible to all the interested parties to consume those services. Because, those are proprietary organizations; user have to pay huge amount of money for those services. Some- time they do not always provide the desired services to the users as well. Therefore users have to move to another application. It is really a waste of money and the time. How can we solve this problem ? We can provide a solution by designing a Service Oriented Customizable Framework to Manipulate GIS data. Then user gets the access to all kind of GIS services through this framework, where Organizations like ESRI publish their services in this Framework. System will give organizations to register their services in a UDDI. Users can search the desired service from the UDDI registry and bind that service with his/her application. This framework will also give the exibility to customize application to suite with your needs.
