Web Based Work Management System

Abstract

Abstract Megaskills is a UK based company which conducts and handles research based projects in various South Asian countries and providing consultancy services for the various issues arising in different sectors. At present, Megaskills faces a lot of issues which arise in terms of coordinating activities, assigning tasks, monitoring assigned tasks and communicating among staff members. Though the email is facilitating the communication among the staff members, the system cannot give a rapid feedback to the staff members. Therefore, assigning and monitoring of tasks among the staff members have to be carried out manually. Since the different partner organizations are working in different countries, the contribution towards the project work is not visible under the current manual system. Therefore an automated mechanism was needed to fulfill the above tasks. The system developed in this project as a solution to the above issues is totally based on different user levels and the privileges given to those user levels and is implemented as a web based system using PHP to enable different people to access the system from different locations. The system eliminates the errors and issues that occur due to the current manual system by giving a rapid feedback to different levels of the staff members. Assigning tasks to each staff member and monitoring the assigned tasks have been simplified. Improved communication and collaboration among the staff members has resulted. Continuous monitoring of the assigned activities by project manager and providing feedback accordingly has improved. Further, generation of good reports has reduced the paper work as in the current system. The work flow of the project, efficiency and performances has been improved. Similar systems have been studied to incorporate their good features in to this system as well.
