Student Management & Scheduling System (SMSS)

Abstract

ICBT campus is the one of the largest & leading private sector education provider in Sri Lanka. ICBT Campus delivers a range of educational programs including certificate programs, diploma programs, undergraduate programs, master’s level programs as well as doctoral programs in association with some of the best universities and educational service providers in UK, Australia, Thailand, India and Sweden. This project addresses an issue which currently exists within the ICBT campus, in the area of student management & scheduling. As large amount of students are being registered daily to follow various courses, program co-coordinators find it very difficult to cope up with the amount of registrations going on, processing of results, allocation of lecture halls & labs, scheduling of parents meetings on time, accurately.

Some of the main goals to be achieved via this proposed solution are, to improve student ~ lecturer ~ parent connectivity, make foreign students also linked with the academic process, though they`re out of the country for any period of time, & to enhance the overall productivity of the ICBT, from all possible aspects.

In conclusion, the ultimate goal is to develop a web based system to address the above raised issues with the intention of seeking overall improvement of the organization. Java & mysql is being used mainly in developing this system
