Web Based Residence Solution & Client Interaction Management System

Abstract

Web based resident solution and client interaction management system is mainly focused on a drafting services business for local and overseas clients. The business ran all the processes, activities, and procedures manually, which results in challenges to coordinating orders, assigning orders, monitoring orders, and communicating with clients.

Communication is vital as client requirements frequently change. Previously, above mentioned tasks were managed using emails, spread sheets, and phone calls. However, these methods are problematic because it is difficult to keep track of all client records in a systematic manner. Phone calls are an expensive method of communication. Microsoft office applications such as MS Word and MS Excel were used for documenting and for storing data, but result in a lot of paper work, extra time to enter information provided by applicants, and frequent loss of important data.

The methods: letter posting and e-mailing were also used to exchange drafts and plans. Posting letters is expensive and not efficient as the information sometimes does not reach the right person at the right time. These manual procedures are costly, time consuming, and result in a high degree of errors. Therefore, a proper web based system is implemented in order to provide a better service.

The system also includes an online advertising service for selling and renting houses. This online advertising service will facilitate both clients and property owners. For example, it will allow home owners to advertise their house on the web and allow buyers to select a home by searching the houses on the web according to their requirement. Therefore, this service will provide the best solution for clients’ residence problems. The main objective is to fulfill the needs of both clients who want to design a house as per their requirements and those who want to buy a readymade house.

The main identified project tasks include: advertising homes, searching residence, estimating house design requirements, assigning orders to draftsmen, monitoring orders, managing interactions among draftsmen and clients, and generating report. The system is developed using PHP: Hypertext Pre-processor which is a powerful server-side scripting language, Apache as the web server and MySQL as the Database Management System.
