Title: NEW INTEGRATED PERSONNEL AND PAYROLL SYSTEM FOR MAXIES AND COMPANY (PVT) LTD

Abstract: Maxies and Company is one of the largest and fast growing food processing and distributing organization in the industry, having more than five hundred employees. Payroll System in Maxies helps keep the employees personal data and to process salary details smoothly and accurately. Salaries must be paid accurately on time. Therefore Payroll operation is one of the business-critical operation for organization. Maxies has identified its existing payroll system which is not improved with continued growth of company business process and not capable enough to support to current and future requirements. At present the Maxies IT Policy is to deploying open source and free software and tools as much as possible. Existing Payroll System is not supported to accomplish this goal. Therefore client expectation is to develop new Payroll System which is platform independent to suit present IT Policy requirement. Existing Time Attendance, General Ledger, Point of Sales and Meal are the systems, integrated with new system and there should be a facility to generate reconciliation reports about integrated system data. All the designing diagrams were drawn according to the Unified Modelling Language (UML) methodology. Modified waterfall process model is used as the system development methodology and object oriented system design is used to design the system. NetBeans 6.9.1 IDE with Java and i-Report libraries and MS SQL 2005 Database are used as implementation tools and database. With new system all the payroll relevant processes and procedures are made efficient and easier, it reduced total time effort that used. Also it caused for reduce the number of employees required for the payroll operation. It provides more accurate and attractive reports. This system can be operated on multiple platforms (Windows and Linux) and reduce the cost that required to develop, deploy and maintain. Analyzing cost benefit that we can see, it will be reduced Total Cost of Ownership regarding payroll operations and profit increase by reducing the cost.
