WEB BASED FUNERAL BENEFITS SYSTEM FOR SANASA INSURANCE COMPANY

Abstract

Insurance in its basic form is defined as ? A contract between two parties whereby one party called insurer undertakes in exchange for a fixed sum called premiums, to pay the other party called insured a fixed amount of money on the happening of a certain event." In simple terms it is a contract between the person who buys Insurance and an Insurance company who sold the Policy. Sanasa Insurance Company was set up with a far- reaching object of promoting insurance service of all citizens in Sri Lanka. The Company is primarily concerned with provision of life assurance and micro-insurance services to the informal sector, and secondarily its objective is to promote all types of insurance amongst all members of public so as to meet their insurance needs. The term "Micro-insurance" denotes the provision of insurance to the informal sector i.e. low -income families or groups of people living in rural and semi-urban areas. This System consists of the web site for SICL (Sanasa Insurance Company Ltd) and its Funeral Benefits System which processed with manually. Authorized persons gain access to the system through website anywhere in this world. This system helps to maintain societies, policies, main insurers and members who are under main insurers. Searching the dead person is the main objective of this system. Managers of SICL able to access the day to day management reports and check the business progress. Funeral Benefits System was developed into the three tire architecture. Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 with ASP.NET and C#.NET Language, Microsoft SQL Server 2005, Microsoft IIS Web Server, Crystal Reports, Ajax and Object Oriented techniques were used to implement this system in the Microsoft Windows environment. Adobe Photoshop was used to design the web application.
