Abstract

A web based job assigning and monitoring system is an integrated man machine system which mainly focused to support through online to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of most of the organizations globally. With the dramatic advantage of an internet and the growth of technologies in an e-commerce through the World Wide Web, the information and resources sharing between remote locations have escalated rapidly without borders. Therefore, the ability to create a right web based system for a company like Metro can enhance their key functions through proper scheduling and controlling methods. Metro Contracting EST, one of the leading qualified contractors in U.A.E for Etisalat activities in the telecommunication industry. As a fully national company which established in 1993, they mainly involved with the latest wireless access technology called, WIMAX service. In addition to that, they had involved with several major projects such as fiber network developments, cable TV, Radio transmission, Electrical transmission, CCTV security camera and high speed GPON systems. In recent years it had observed the huge demand for an internet services throughout the world, the market for broad band internet services in U.A.E is dominated and almost everywhere in U.A.E i.e. from industrial, business and residential sectors. Metro is working with customer service part by provisioning, fault rectification and cessation activities through well qualified technical team. Metro had ability to challenge for any competitor in same field since they have latest tools and other resources. It had observed an averagely over 130 jobs on daily basis but sometimes there staff faced certain issues with appointment process which would result in for the final output. In order to overcome the above critical issues, the proposed software was developed. The web based job assigning system was developed it integrated Net beans environment using by Apache tomcat as the web server, My SQL as the data base management system and My SQL workbench and Quick UML as designing tools. The above combination of tools had ensured the success of designed system through trial testing. The proposed web based IT system is consists with administrator facilities to manage and restrict functionalities through authorized login access, further more process such as job registration, scheduling, dispatching, inquires, updates and management report creations are the main features in system. In addition to that there are plenty of facilities through various reports to get support for invoicing, performance evaluations, Base Station capacity checks, and other guidance.
