Online Lab Operations Management System For IDM Computer Studies (pvt) Ltd.

Abstract

IDM Computer Studies (pvt) Ltd. is a well renowned computer education institute in Sri Lanka. Presently company has more than 50 branches covering many districts in Sri Lanka. When it comes to manage computers in labs they are facing difficulties. As their aspire is to give good service to their customers, from the system It is expected to give efficient, reliable, quality system when managing lab related operations. The proposed system consists of functionalities that will be needed to manage the computer lab and the other related things needed for lab operations. In report generation that will provide reports to the higher management of the company to make management decisions. As this project is an online solution, users will be able to get details from the system, manage the lab operations through internet. That will be easy for students and as well as for the employees of the company to increase the productivity and efficiency of their work. For the development of the system PHP & MySQL were used. Other than that JQuery, html and JavaScript were also used for other purposes like validation, data sending. To analyze and design the system Unified Modeling Language was used. Developed system running based on the three tier architecture. WAMP server used as the server and development was done using the Dreamweaver CS5 and Netbeans IDE. This Dissertation documents the things that were carried out to develop the system in each phase. To learn and understand the project functionalities, details are provided in each chapter of this document using diagrams, reports, etc.., This system will generate benefits by achieving functional and non-functional objectives expected from this project. Most of the requirements of the client were fulfilled by the system. While there are some areas in student registration and lab booking system needs to be improved or need to be added in order to get the maximum out of this system. This project will help the company to gain competitive advantage over its competitors and will save resources of both company people and its students?.
