ONLINE INFORMATION SYSTEM FOR S A MAHAMERA PRIVATE LIMITED CONSTRUCTIONS

Abstract

S A Mahamera Private Limited is a recently established company with main intention of designing and providing quality and affordable house plans to the public of Sri Lanka. This company is based on Rambukkana and have the intention of providing their services not only to Rambukkana area but to Whole Island. To achieve this, a web based system was developed for them, which can be used to publish various house plans that have already designed with all the plan details where users can visit the site, view plans and also place an order for a preferred plan. Since there was no any existing system available, everything was built from scratch and requirements analysis and understanding took a considerable amount of time. This system developed for S A Mahamera Private Limited consists of two main sections and each section has its own sub units. They are administration section, which allows site administrator to upload and edit new house plan details with the images, process orders received, response to user requests, generate reports and with a web solution allowing normal users to get the services provided such as searching, viewing, ordering plans, login to the system and ask questions, sending emails asking for further details on plans or to get any information regarding their services. This system was developed in the PHP MYSQL server technology, since that combination is considered to give a good performance and provides a much easy implementation environment. Pre-configured WAMP (Windows, Apache, MySQL, and PHP) Server was used as the web server (Apache) and database server (MySQL). Adobe Dreamweaver was used as the main development tool for user interfaces and other coding. As the system is developed successfully with fulfilling all requirements and also tested as well in real time, it can be trusted to give an error free, trustworthy and user friendly functionality. So, S A Mahamera Private Limited will be able to obtain more business advantages using this system. It is obvious that the people in the country will also be able to get a loyal service from S A Mahamera Private Limited regarding their house planning and designing needs.
