Title: Medical Laboratory Management System (MLMS) For Digasiri Diagnostic Medical Lab

Abstract: Digasiri Diagnostic is a well established and recognized medical laboratory situated in Angunukolapelessa, which has been doing healthcare service such as various medical testing, E.C.G, channeling, etc. to the peoples in the area of Hanbantota District. At present, most of the operations like the patient record keeping, test record keeping, staff management, have been done manually and according to the situation of current analysis, Digasiri Diagnostic faces difficulties in managing records and staff management. Therefore, with this project, I endeavor to improve and maintain the standards, quality, efficiency and expand their service and get a competitive advantage such as billing, maintaining laboratory test details, drug issuing, maintaining patient s details, summarizing the daily income and purchasing details such as weekly, monthly, etc. The entire system is divided into three sub systems, namely Billing System, Lab Report System and Drug Issue System. This project covers all the functionalities of medical lab as well as drug issuing. Report printings, drug issuing and updating patient details, testing details, stocking details of drugs & chemicals and staff management are some of the highlighted areas of the works I have done. More over relevant graphs and reports have been provided for the management. System was developed according to the three-tier architecture and also Object Oriented Techniques were employed. Unified Modeling Language was used in the analysis and design stages of the project. Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 was used to implement the system in VB .NET language with the help of Microsoft SQL Server 2005 in the Windows environment. All the works carried out during each phase of the project were illustrated by this dissertation. Each chapter will consist of required details in order to understand the project with the help of appropriate figures, graphs and reports. Through achieving functional and non-functional objectives of the project, this system gives a smooth functioning procedure with a user friendly environment.
